The difference in quality between this and the standard drug store comb is visible. There are no rough edges, it is firmer with enough flexibility. The only thing that might have been an improvement would be if it was somewhat larger. The health of my hair has definitely improved with Mason Pearson tools.

Honestly thought a $40 plastic comb was the kind of thing nouveau riche folk bought themselves to feel bougie, but I'm pleasantly surprised.This is much better than the drug store $6 black plastic combs I've always used. The tines are squared off and feel substantial, parting hair better without scratching my scalp. I've noticed my hair sits better after use.Still egregiously expensive for what it is but at least you get what you pay for.

If you want a comb that’s better than the rest this is the one. More expensive, but worth the price! The Dressing Comb is a nice size very sturdy, easy to fit in your handbag. Happy with my purchase.

Good quality comb, but I didn't think it was worth $30. Perhaps if you're a dude who plays with your hair for hours you might want one of these, but for the average guy who has a bit of hair that you want to style, it's not worth the extra money -- but that's just my opinion. As for the quality of the product, it's very sturdy and looks like it will last for quite a while.

It's hard to believe that there could be much difference between combs, but this one proves there is. It is smooth and highly polished, so it doesn't scratch the scalp or drag through the hair. I'm very glad I bought this.

Good quality fit and finish. Each tooth is well rounded but not too blunt, no snags or sharp edges. The shaft has a nice feel good thickness, feels very sturdy.The shaft is thicker and the comb tapers down at the tooth. Overall great quality. Shipping was on time.

Is it weird that this was one of my most satisfying purchases on Amazon? Seriously though, it was so worth investing 10X as much as I'd normally pay for a comb to get something that feels as satisfying as this. Don't hesitate. It doesn't snag my hair nearly as much as my Conair comb, and it's so beautifully made! It should last forever.

I can't guarantee this product will straighten frizzy hair, or prevent hair loss; however this is a very nice comb that I hope will last many years. I can honestly say that it glides through my hair better than the plastic combs, and doesn't pull out my hair, even when combing through pomade. The Dressing Comb is their biggest model and feels very solid in the hand.This is the only brand of comb they sell at Neiman's, if my memory serves me correct. I'm going to purchase the pocket comb for myself, and the detangling comb and rat tail comb for my mother.

Lest that headline seem like hyperbole, I must explain that I had another comb just like this one for almost a quarter of a century...and the only reason I had to purchase this new one was because I lost the old one! The teeth are smooth and there's never a problem with static electricity. And it's pretty. And, as my previous experience indicates, it's durable! So if you're looking for the last comb you'll ever need to buy, this is it!

If you're thinking about spending ~$20 on a comb you're probably pretty into doing your hair. These combs are wonderful. I own two - one for home and one for travel. While one tooth has broken off on the finer edge of one of them it still works perfectly. These are more comfortable in your hand (and to your scalp) than cheap drugstore combs and are excellent for a nice clean part/general styling. I also use mine to clean hair from my Mason Pearson brush; it's much quicker than the included cleaning brush.
