The story
Shea butter has been a beauty healer since Ancient Egypt, and the reason is simple: it is a plant fat that behaves like the moisture barrier skin and hair already want. Here it works alongside silk amino acids, phyto microproteins and Dynagen-R, so the wash puts protein and moisture back rather than taking them away. Hair that felt coarse and looked dull comes out soft, and colour holds its depth longer because nothing in the bottle is stripping it.
What it does
- Restores moisture levels
- Protects colour-treated hair
- Heals every day damage
- Reproteinizes
- Enhances shine
Clinically backed repair
Dynagen-R is our patented hair technology, sourced in France and exclusive to REDAVID: a yeast protein fermented from Fair Trade sugar cane that is molecularly similar to your own hair protein, so it bonds into damaged patches instead of sitting on top. In laboratory testing it raised the markers of hair strength and structure by 50.94% against an untreated control. Three phases, every time you use it: Rebuild, Rehydrate, Reseal.
Source: REDAVID clinical testing, Dynagen at 1%. Markers measured: keratin 14, 17 and 71, collagen I and IV, CD34 and trichohyalin.
Made the slow way
Skincare grade formulas built from hand-picked, top shelf ingredients, then stress tested behind the chair for three years before they ever reach a shelf. We only ship perfected formulas. Made in Canada with domestic and imported ingredients, filled in our Ontario lab.
Family owned since 2012. Cruelty free, paraben free, Fair Trade.
Key ingredients
Rehydrates and lays down a moisture barrier that survives the rinse. Rich in essential fats, phytosterols and vitamins A, D, E and F. Fair Trade sourced.
Eighteen amino acids close enough to hair’s own to be absorbed, binding moisture and smoothing the surface. They leave hair as smooth as a silk scarf, which is exactly what they are made from.
Soy, corn and wheat proteins that fill the gaps where hair has lost its own. Plant proteins instead of animal keratin, with no compromise on repair.
How to use
- Wet hair through.
- Massage a small amount into the scalp and let the lather rinse down the lengths.
- Leave two to three minutes, then rinse well.
- Follow with Shea Butter Conditioner, and Shea Butter Leave-In Conditioner on damp hair.
Feels like: A cushioned, creamy lather. Smells like: Warm vanilla and soft florals.
Questions, answered
Is it sulfate free?
There is no SLS or SLES in it. The cleansers are gentle, coconut derived and safe on colour.
Shea Butter or Orchid Oil?
Shea Butter is the richer wash, for hair that is dry, coarse or colour treated. Orchid Oil is lighter and built for curls. If your hair is both dry and curly, many clients use Orchid Oil and add the Shea Butter Leave-In.
Is it safe on colour?
Yes, and it is formulated to protect it. No sulfates to strip the tone, and shea butter to keep the cuticle sealed.
What is Dynagen-R?
Our patented hair technology, exclusive to REDAVID. A yeast protein fermented from Fair Trade sugar cane that is molecularly similar to your own hair protein, so it bonds where hair is damaged and rebuilds from the inside out.
Made in Canada with domestic and imported ingredients. Formulated and filled in our Ontario lab by a family-owned company, born behind the chair in Vancouver in 2012.
